Background of the Study

Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) play a critical role in development activities, especially in regions like Bali LGA. However, NGOs often face challenges related to financial sustainability, largely due to poor financial planning and mismanagement of resources. Budgetary planning is a key financial management tool that can help NGOs allocate resources efficiently, manage expenditures, and enhance their long-term sustainability. This study will assess the effectiveness of budgetary planning in ensuring the financial sustainability of NGOs in Bali LGA.

Statement of the Problem

Many NGOs in Bali LGA face difficulties in securing and managing funds due to ineffective budgetary planning. Without proper budgeting, NGOs risk overspending or misallocating resources, which may hinder their ability to carry out projects and achieve their objectives. This study aims to evaluate the role of budgetary planning in promoting the financial sustainability of NGOs in Bali LGA.

Aim and Objectives of the Study

Aim: To evaluate the effectiveness of budgetary planning in enhancing the financial sustainability of NGOs in Bali LGA.
Objectives:

  1. To assess the budgetary planning practices used by NGOs in Bali LGA.
  2. To examine the relationship between effective budgetary planning and financial sustainability in NGOs.
  3. To identify the challenges faced by NGOs in implementing budgetary planning.

Research Questions

  1. What budgetary planning practices are used by NGOs in Bali LGA?
  2. How effective is budgetary planning in promoting financial sustainability in NGOs in Bali LGA?
  3. What challenges do NGOs face in implementing budgetary planning?

Research Hypothesis

  1. H₀: Budgetary planning does not significantly enhance the financial sustainability of NGOs in Bali LGA.
  2. H₀: There is no significant relationship between budgetary planning practices and financial sustainability in NGOs in Bali LGA.
  3. H₀: Challenges in implementing budgetary planning do not significantly affect the financial sustainability of NGOs in Bali LGA.

Significance of the Study

This study will provide insights into how budgetary planning can enhance the financial sustainability of NGOs, helping them optimize resources and improve their operational efficiency. The findings could also inform policymakers and NGO management on best practices for financial planning.

Scope and Limitation of the Study

This study will focus on NGOs operating in Bali LGA. Limitations may include difficulties in accessing financial data or reluctance from NGO managers to share sensitive financial information.
